You will be part of a very important group responsible for the search and selection of the Global FWN100™ Awardees.

Your participation will not only be a learning experience but an excellent opportunity for you and your organization to be involved and receive exposure for leading the exclusive gathering of influential Filipina women leaders worldwide.

This is a pro-bono volunteer commitment. Committee Members do not receive any remuneration.

FWN is a San Francisco based international advocacy organization that seeks to increase the power of Filipina women worldwide as leaders and policy makers on economic and social justice and women’s rights in the private and public sectors.

EXPECTATIONS from Global FWN100™ Award Selection Committee Members:

  1. Global or US FWN100™ Awardee

  2. FWN Member in good standing

  3. Attend the Filipina Summit. In 2019, FWN is convening in Paris, France on October 29-November 2, 2019 at the Westin Paris Vendome. Register EARLY so we know you're attending, at https://www.ffwn.org/events

  4. Participate in all summit-related activities at the Filipina Summit – go to www.filipinasummit.org

  5. Participate in the planning of the FWN100™ Awards Ceremony

  6. Choose from two Task Forces:

    1. Search Task Force

    2. Interview Task Force

  7. Choose geographic area/s to focus your Global FWN100™ Search

  8. Identify and nominate a minimum of five (5) qualified Filipina women in their geographic area/s and economic sectors. Submit nominations online here: www.filipinasummit.org/nominate

  9. If a member of the Interview Task Force, recuse from interviewing your nominee or a nominee to whom you are personally or professionally related or is part of your friends and family network.

  10. Refrain from engaging in lobbying activities in the selection of personal nominees, friends/family of nominees or friends/family of members.

  11. Ensure that you will conduct your interview and subsequent recommendation / declination in a fair and professional manner.

  12. Agree to respecting confidentiality of all nominations, internal discussions and deliberations among fellow selection committee members.

  13. Agree to respecting confidentiality of all nominee / nominator contact information

  14. Agree to respecting confidentiality of FWN100™ selection processes and intellectual assets of FWN and will not use or share this information for personal or commercial purposes.

  15. Agree to participate in conference calls and/or face meetings (as scheduled) during selection process pre and post nomination deadline of August 15, 2019.


Selection Process for the Global FWN100™ 2019:

  1. Only online nominations submitted are reviewed.

  2. Nominations that are emailed to selection committee members or to the FWN office will be rejected with a note to submit nominations online at http://www.filipinawomensnetwork.org/nominate. This is important as FWN maintains an online record audit trail purposes.

  3. Incomplete submissions are not included in the initial review process.

  4. Once a submission is deemed complete and vetting process is initiated by Selection Committee Member, nominees are published in the Global FWN100™ Nominee Website to allow for public vetting and comments.

nominee vetting process

  • The Global FWN100™ awards program is also a femtoring program, developing FWN’s pipeline of next generation leaders. FWN is constantly looking for ways to improve the Global FWN100™ nomination process. Feedback is always good and FWN pays attention to how the organization can do better.

  • Femtees are contacted and interviewed during the vetting process to determine nominee’s background in “paying forward”

  • References are contacted and interviewed. This will provide you additional input of why the nominee is “influential”.

  • Nominators are required to receive the nominee’s permission before submitting her nomination. A copy of the nomination submitted is sent to the nominee.

  • When a nomination is submitted successfully, both nominator and nominee receive a confirmation.

  • The nominee's copy of the nomination has a “next steps” message listing the requirements for award qualification.

  • Due diligence is performed to verify nominee's social media history (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) including an Advanced Google Search to review information submitted by nominator/nominee to determine fair selection of FINAL Global FWN100™ List.

  • Ensure that all nomination categories are represented in the final Global FWN100™ List

  • Ensure that all economic sectors are represented in the final Global FWN100™ List

  • If there are ties or very close scores - committee has two chances to re-discuss / re-deliberate their votes until a majority is reached. Selection Committee Chair and the FWN Board will have final approval of the Final Global FWN100™ List
